OSHA kicks off 2015 National Stand-Down starting May 4, 2015. The National Safety Stand-Down is a time when employers and employees voluntarily stop work to talk about falls and fall prevention. Deputy Secretary Chris Lu. states, “Falls from heights remains the leading cause of death for construction workers.” Falls make up more than 1/3 of all construction fatalities in the workplace. The National Stand-Down is part of an effort by OSHA to reach more than 20,000 companies and more than 3,000,000 workers.
